Summer Math+ 2021 - Houston, TX
Instructor: Reynold D’ Souza
Level: Middle School (6th-8th)
Location: Strake Jesuit or Virtually
Mr. D’Souza teaches Accelerated Algebra II at Strake Jesuit where has taught for 14 years. Mr. D’Souza also coaches Strake Jesuit’s Freshman A soccer team and acts as the school’s Service Director. He has 27 years of teaching experience and earned an MS in Mathematics at Michigan Technological University.
This Summer, the Math+ course will focus on Number Theory – the study of integers (e.g., -1, 2, 3). Over the six classes, we will explore different aspects of this critical concept and will learn what Number Theory is and how it relates to computer applications and important topics including cryptography.
NOTE: The course will be offered in person at Strake Jesuit. Room location and safety protocols will be communicated to registrants. The course will be streamed virtually as well. All students, virtually or in person, will be using interactive software to navigate the material and keep everyone included.
