Spring Math+ 2022 - Kansas City, MO
Instructor: Greg Owsley
Level: Middle School (6th-8th)
Bio:
Mr. Owsley was the previous director of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiative at Rockhurst High School where he used to teach AP Calculus II. He was formerly the chair of the Mathematics department for six years. He earned a BA in Mathematics from the University of Rochester, a MAT from Webster University and an MS in Educational Leadership from St. Joseph's University.
About the course:
This Spring, the Math+ program will be focused on Logic and Proofs. In Mathematics, logic and proofs represent the most rigorous way to ‘solve’ a problem and form the backbone of advanced math. These critical skills have become increasingly tested in standardized exams with ~20% of SAT Math questions testing basic logic.
NOTE: The course will be offered in person at Rockhurst High School. Room location and safety protocols will be communicated to registrants.
