Level: Middle School (6th-8th)
Bio:
Mr. Taylor has 19 years of teaching experience in STEM subjects. He began his career teaching middle school science for nine years and currently teaches high school mathematics. He has experience teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. Mr. Taylor has also helped to coordinate SAT Prep courses for students looking to excel as they pursue collegiate opportunities. Mr. Taylor graduated from Central Michigan University where he majored in Physics and minored in Mathematics and Physical Science. He loves helping students make meaningful connections between mathematics and the physical world. In his spare time Mr. Taylor enjoys playing disc golf, spending time with his family and juggling.
About the course:
This Spring, the Math+ program will be focused on the concept of Infinity. Infinity can be defined as “something without any limit”. The concept has applications across disciplines but is particularly critical in mathematics where the concept has been at the center of the field since 1655 when John Wallis, a leading mathematician, defined its mathematical symbol.
NOTE: The course will be offered in person at Sacred Heart Academy, Mt. Pleasant, MI at Room 269. Additional information will be communicated to registrants.
