Bio:
Peggy Martin has over 25 years of high school math teaching experience. She taught for 13 years at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, MO and since 2013, she has been teaching at Jesuit High School in Tampa, FL. Also since 2013, she has taught the summer Fast-Track math courses (Geometry, Trigonometry and Precalculus) for the Arrupe Virtual Learning Institute. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. She practiced law for a few years but quickly realized she missed teaching math and has been living the dream doing what she loves ever since returning to the world of mathematics.
About the course:
This Fall’s course focuses on Probability, a mathematical concept that has both practical relevance and important mathematical applications. The course will teach probability while exploring many real-world applications from finance to decision-making to poker.
NOTE: The course will be hosted via Zoom and will be held on the dates and times below in EASTERN TIME (ET). As the course is virtual, students do not have to be based in Tampa to enroll.
