Bio:
Mr. Owsley was the previous director of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiative at Rockhurst High School where he used to teach AP Calculus II. He was formerly the chair of the Mathematics department for six years. He earned a BA in Mathematics from the University of Rochester, a MAT from Webster University and an MS in Educational Leadership from St. Joseph's University.
About the course:
The Math+ program will be focused on the concept of Infinity. Infinity can be defined as “something without any limit”. The concept has applications across disciplines but is particularly critical in mathematics where the concept has been at the center of the field since 1655 when John Wallis, a leading mathematician, defined its mathematical symbol.
NOTE: The course will be offered in person at Rockhurst High School at Room 121.
